Knowing what's so

Loving the Black and White

Which floor would you want to base your business on?

People starting a new business start from what they know and what they can do. They start by taking actions and just keep doing and doing. They forget to stop and see what the status of the business is. For various reasons, many people build their businesses on an uneven floor. This causes lots of trouble. It is best to have certainty. Black and white. Then and only then can you create and make powerful business situations. It also gives you a lot of freedom and lets you sleep at night.

I have a client that is very successful. They have been running their business on what they know and what they want to know. Recently they saw that it would be really powerful if they knew all the ins and outs of where the money comes and goes. Now this business owner can touch the levers and dials and produce more profit than she thought was possible.

I have another client that has looked at the Black and White and now knows what they need to produce to have a breakthrough year. One of the owner says, "I hate the numbers. It has me loose focus and not give the customer what I am committed to - extraordinary customer service". He doesn't want to get suppressed by the pressure of having it be all about the numbers. His partner on the other hand is very motivated and more focused than ever.

There is always a front of the hand and a back of the hand when it comes to dealing with the numbers and staying committed to what you are up to. Keep your Mission in front of you, keep your numbers in front of you. Own all of it. Love all of it. Have all of it. Anything is possible.

What do you do to know about the black and white of your business? How do you stay present to your Mission and what you have created?

Plan Plan Plan

Are things growing in your business or your project? Do feel a little or a lot scattered? Are you afraid you are going to forget something because you're getting so busy?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then it is time to stop, take a deep breath and schedule time to plan. Schedule 3-5 hours and make sure you have someone supporting you. Play music but make sure you're not distracted. No phone, no Facebook, no TV and no other people that will take you off task. You can have someone with you that you like to brainstorm with.

Take the time to collect anything you will need. Financial reports, sales reports, future business opportunities and everything in between. Start by being certain about the state of your business. Once you are clear with where you are, you can create a vision either on paper or as a vision board.

I am excited to do my planning Saturday and Monday. I am taking my business up a notch. Things are growing and I am reaching a place where there is some reliability.

Power freedom and full self expression here we come!

What you do or don't do for your planning? What do you love to do? What do you hate to do? Share your visions and your dreams.

Going to the next level without shooting yourself in the foot

“Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections.”
-Anonymous

Jump in the water. They say the water is perfect. I remind myself of that every day. It sometimes goes that way and jumping into icy water wakes you up enough to stay in action. I have been in business for 2.5 years. During that time I had a baby and worked on growing my business. I have thought about giving up. I have celebrated my successes. Just 3 months ago I decided I needed to get a "job" to create stability and to give me a reliable paycheck so that I had something to count on. I found that 5 weeks ago. This has given me the confidence to be able to actually push my business off the ledge and have it stop being a business for survival. Now I can create having fun and think outside of the box.

Out of this I have created two entirely new aspects of my business.
  • Being the "Business Nanny"

  • Operational Manager for Hire

It is all very exciting. Here I am, swinging out and promoting what I am up to. Three new clients in the last 4 weeks and 2 more possibilities, but it's not a time to get cocky. It's time to stay in action and keep the integrity in. The most important part is to be open to inspiration and spontaneity and to keep breathing.

Where are you expanding? Have you ever had lots of really good things happen and instead of concentrating on the future you wait for the other shoe to drop?

When moving from one stage to the next the key is to tighten up the places that you have ignored and get rigorous with creating the future.

What do you do to keep you from sabotaging yourself??

Is That Warm and Fuzzy Feeling Important To Producing Results

I am working on my eBook tonight after a very up and down kind of day. Results are not produced without actions. Actions need to be taken with a powerful infrastructure and a solid foundation. To be effective you need to be operating from a powerful place, but when you get one "No" after the other sometimes it is hard to keep staying in a powerful place.

Today my coach and I went back and forth until we figured out that my conversation of "I am not worth it" keeps ruling the day. The story of my life. As I have told my clients the only way to have it stop having such a grip on you is to get the absurdity of it. You end up having a grip on it instead of it having a grip on you. At last count I had the thought "I am screwed" or "I am not worth it" 62 times. It is crazy but I started getting some freedom and power back half way through the day. It started getting funny noticing how many times I had those thoughts.

When I did an interview with someone for my book and the first thing she said is that when she heard the word accountability she did not feel warm and fuzzy. That's why I am writing my eBook "Why Accountability?". I want people have some freedom around the word and to understand the value of being accountable and being responsible. So keep an eye out for my eBook "Why Accountability?"

What do you think of when you here the words accountability and responsibility?

When you are being that what does it provide for you in your life?

The Daily Grind

I love making a difference. I love working with people and having them win. Networking, cold calling, research for leads, calling friends for referrals? YUCK!

The problem is if you do not do at least one of these continuously then your business will never be stable, reliable or even really fulfilling because you will always be worried where the next piece of business is coming from. This sales pipeline is the life blood of every business. Knowing your effectiveness is key.

Do you know how to calculate your effectiveness? Do you know how many people you need to speak to or connect with to produce business?

You can easily calculate exactly how many businesses and people you need to speak to in order to reach your million dollar goals. It is all math, but almost no one does it. Most business owners or sales people guess, or hope, or pray. They don't do the math. They don't take the time to figure it out and work smartly. The funny thing is this is what I tell my clients to do. I even sit with them and calculate it, but when it comes to running my business I blow it off like it doesn't matter and it won't make a difference.

I promise taking the time to do this thinking and planning will take all the stress and craziness out of your day to day business. It will bring freedom and play.

Responsibility

I knew it was going to take a lot to run a business. I knew I was going to have to be responsible for more things than you need to be when you work for a company. But some days it seems to be more than I can do. What drives you crazy about your business??

I was just doing taxes and I see all the things I need to keep track of so that I get enough deductions next year. Every receipt on the planet.

These last couple of weeks I have been dealing with so many structures and so many things to have my business thrive. Constant Contact, Mint.com, Facebook, Twitter, my new eBook and of course my blog. Now I have to keep track of invoices and all of our expenses. All of this is very exciting and it makes me crazy.

What don't you want to be responsible for in your business? Where are you frozen because you do not know where to start?

What works for me is talking it out, getting in communication with the people that listen to me powerfully. Then of course getting into action and doing what needs to be done. Every time I get something complete I get more power more freedom and more creativity.

Do You Think Things Are Handled?

I do not know about you but getting a business going either from the beginning or from a plateau can be extremely frustrating.

The one thing that almost all business owners forget is that even though things start moving that does not mean that anything is handled. You need to keep following up, networking and creating new business. I personally hate that part of the business, but recently I created a new way to look at it. When I am "Following up", "Networking" and "Creating new business" I am fulfilling my future and my dreams and giving Max what he needs to have the best foundation for his future. This motivates me this gets me moving. It even has me write this blog. Every time I come up against something I picture Max and his future.

I invite you to find something that inspires you, something that wakes you up in the morning. Have that inspiration support you in pushing through the things you hate so that you can fulfill on what you are up to.

This is Max inspired and ready to go. What gets you going like that?

Why Accountability ?

If you ask me this question my immediate reaction is "UGH". I never WANT to be held accountable. I wish I could wave a magic wand and do all the things I say I am going to do, all the things that I intend to do and all the things others want me to do, but left to my own devices I will only do maybe half or 3/4 of these things. It really all depends on what I feel like doing, not what I said I would do.

So what do I do to impact this? I hired a personal trainer. I have a Business Coach. I even have a coach that is supporting me in writing my first book. Definitely something I would never do if left to my own devices.

Having these people available to me and cheering me on actually has me produce results that I am proud of and excited about. After working with my trainer I am actually contemplating running a 10K run in a year. That was never even a thought 2 months ago.

Accountability gives me freedom, power and the ability to create.

What do you think? Do you run from accountability? Do you love it? What does it provide for you?

Becoming a Business Owner

For the last 5 weeks I have been taking a lot of actions towards my business. The first thing I did was register my business with sunbiz.org so Success for Hire is now a reality! I was then able to open a business checking account and get checks. That was a powerful experience. Next I went on my first business trip! I went to Tampa and worked with a company that has 8 staff members. We had a blast and created great goals for the year.

The biggest thing for me was how I interacted with what I did and what I "called" myself. I have been interacting with myself as a person that provides a service. Someone that supports people to be more effective and productive in their business and I get paid for it. Well now I interact with myself as a "business owner". I own a business that provides a service that people pay for. This has been very empowering and fun. I am now more confident and powerful in all of my day to day activities. I am now more focused and effective at what I do.

I have even created benefits of working with me.

1- I am a affordable structure for growing your business.
2- I am a sounding board to help you articulate your dreams and goals.
3- I provide a way to plan that gives you peace of mind.
4- I am a cheerleader who keeps you in action through the ups and downs.
5- I hold your feet to the fire when you " don't wanna"
6- I love my clients

Creating this business has been and still is one of the most challenging things I have ever done besides being a Mom. I am so excited to be on this adventure. I am no longer scared or in survival about running my own business.

How can I help you have that kind of power with what you are up to?
